Hotel-to-Hotel Transfers in Mauritius With Sightseeing Stops

A hotel-to-hotel transfer in Mauritius can include sightseeing before you reach your next accommodation. Barefoot Transfers Mauritius arranges a private vehicle with space for your luggage, planned stops and driver waiting, with the route and total price agreed before you book.

Send us both hotel names, your travel date and the places you would like to visit. We will help you decide what fits between checkout and your preferred arrival time.

Ask about a hotel transfer with sightseeing

Choose a direct transfer, a short stop or a sightseeing day

The best arrangement depends on how you want to spend your hotel-change day.

A direct hotel-to-hotel transfer

Choose a direct journey if you would rather reach your next hotel, settle in and enjoy the afternoon there.

This can also be the better option when travelling with tired children, carrying more luggage than usual or moving between hotels that are close together.

Our hotel transfers in Mauritius page covers the wider service.

A transfer with one planned stop

A lunch, market visit or selected attraction can fit into a hotel change without turning it into a full sightseeing day.

Tell us approximately how long you want to spend there. A quick photograph and a two-hour attraction visit require different waiting arrangements, even if they are at the same location.

A longer sightseeing transfer

If you have most of the day available, we can plan several suitable stops before dropping you at your next hotel.

The vehicle needs to accommodate your holiday luggage as well as everyone travelling. Driving, visits and lunch all count towards the agreed booking period.

For a longer itinerary or transport across several days, see our private driver service in Mauritius.

Which sightseeing stops could fit your hotel change?

Start with your two accommodation addresses. A place that looks nearby on a map may involve extra driving, a mountain road or a return along the same route.

These examples show two different ways to plan the journey.

Grand Baie to Flic en Flac with a Port Louis stop

If you are moving from Grand Baie to Flic en Flac, you can ask about visiting Port Louis during the transfer.

Choose what you would most like to do: explore the market, walk around Caudan Waterfront or stop for lunch. A requested visit of one to two hours is a useful starting point, but it will not cover every city attraction.

Tell us whether lunch should fit within that time or be an additional stop. We can then check the driving plan, parking and your preferred arrival time in Flic en Flac.

Flic en Flac to Le Morne with a Chamarel detour

A hotel change from Flic en Flac to Le Morne can include a detour to Chamarel.

A focused visit could take in the waterfall viewpoint and Seven Coloured Earth. These are included within the Geopark admission, which is separate from your transport quote.

Chamarel adds both driving and visiting time to the direct transfer. If you also want a restaurant lunch or a distillery visit, mention it when enquiring so we can allow for the longer day.

You do not need to fit every attraction into the journey. One visit you have time to enjoy can work better than several rushed stops.

How much sightseeing time do you actually have?

Your hotel-change window must cover the entire journey, including loading, driving, visits, food and an allowance for delays.

For example, leaving at 10:00 and aiming to arrive at 15:00 gives you five hours in total.

If the agreed route needs two hours of driving, you allow one hour for lunch and keep 30 minutes for loading and delays, that leaves 90 minutes for sightseeing.

This is an illustration of the calculation, not a schedule for a particular route. We check the driving allowance against your actual hotels and chosen stops.

Before booking, decide:

  • When you can finish checkout and be ready to leave.

  • When you would like to reach the next hotel.

  • Which stop matters most to you.

  • Whether lunch is part of the plan.

If the day starts late, shortening an optional visit may be more practical than arriving much later at your next accommodation.

What happens to your luggage during the stops?

Your luggage travels in the booked vehicle between hotels. Tell us the number and size of your suitcases, along with cabin bags, pushchairs, golf bags or other bulky items.

A vehicle that suits your family for a sightseeing day may need more luggage space when you are moving accommodation.

We confirm the vehicle and luggage arrangements during stops before accepting the booking. Keep valuables and anything you need during your visits in a small bag with you.

Larger families and groups can ask about our private minibus hire with a driver.

If you need child seats, include each child’s age, height and approximate weight in your enquiry.

How is a sightseeing transfer priced?

Hotel-to-hotel journeys with stops are quoted individually. The price depends on:

  • Your pickup and destination addresses.

  • The vehicle and luggage space required.

  • The route and planned stops.

  • The time spent driving and waiting.

  • Any additional pickups or drop-offs.

If you are undecided, ask us to quote both the direct transfer and the journey with your chosen stops. You can then compare the additional cost and time before deciding.

For the agreed sightseeing itinerary, the transport quote includes the vehicle, driver, fuel and parking. Entrance tickets, activities, specialist guides and meals are separate unless expressly included.

Waiting at your planned stops forms part of the booked hours. If you want to add another attraction or extend the day, discuss the change and any additional charge before going ahead.

Frequently asked questions

Does the driver wait while we visit an attraction?

Yes, waiting at the stops on your confirmed sightseeing itinerary is included within the booked hours. Agree on the collection point and time with your driver before leaving the vehicle.

Can we change the stops during the day?

You can ask. Your driver will help check what fits within the remaining time and route. A longer detour or extra hours may change the price, which we discuss before providing the additional service.

What if our next hotel room is not ready?

Confirm check-in and any early-arrival arrangements directly with the hotel. We can plan the transfer around your preferred arrival time, but room availability and hotel luggage storage are decided by the property.

Can we stop at a supermarket?

Yes, a supermarket stop can be requested when booking. Tell us approximately how long you need so it is included in the timing and quote.

How do we pay?

Pay your driver in cash at the end of the journey. We accept euros, British pounds, Mauritian rupees and US dollars. Agree on the payment currency when confirming your booking.

Card payment is not available in the vehicles.

What is the cancellation policy?

Standard transport bookings can be cancelled free of charge at least 24 hours before the scheduled pickup. Separately booked activities may have different cancellation conditions.
