The ultimate east-coast island-hopping day

Discover the beauty of Mauritius in a single exhilarating trip. Departing from Trou d'Eau Douce on the east coast, this all-inclusive tour blends turquoise lagoons, a hidden waterfall, vibrant snorkelling spots, real history, and a delicious BBQ lunch on the beach. Whether you're a couple, a family or a group of friends, you'll get a warm welcome, personal service and countless postcard moments — the true east coast, away from the resort crowds.

Your day, stop by stop

8:30 AM · Departure from Trou d'Eau Douce — meet your skipper and crew at the jetty, quick safety briefing, and off across the crystal-clear lagoon.

Grand River South East Waterfall — cruise inland through mangrove-lined channels to the GRSE waterfall cascading into the river, surrounded by lush forest. Watch for monkeys in the trees and fruit bats perched on the highest branches as the boat noses gently toward the falls. Cameras out — this is the perfect opener.

Ile aux Phares (Lighthouse Island) — step ashore to explore the remnants of a lighthouse over 200 years old. In 1810 this island was a key lookout in the naval Battle of Grand Port — the only Napoleonic naval victory, listed on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The panorama is unforgettable: calm turquoise water inside the reef on one side, the open Indian Ocean smashing against the coral barrier on the other.

Ile de la Passe — a few minutes away, a small island steeped in history: old stone cannons and colonial fortifications from the 1800s still stand amid the wind and waves. Your guide walks you through the ruins where battles were once fought in these now-tranquil waters.

Ile aux Flamants — pure tranquility: a powdery sandbank surrounded by shallow, impossibly clear warm water, far from the crowds. Hop off for a swim, snorkel over the surrounding coral, or just bask on the sand. This is the photo stop of the day.

Snorkeling by Ile aux Aigrettes — we cruise to the marine reserve of Ile aux Aigrettes, a landmark conservation islet (to protect its rare birds, plants and giant tortoises we circle rather than land) and pause at a vibrant coral reef nearby for the day's main snorkelling break. Gear is provided; non-swimmers relax on deck with a cold drink.

Ile aux Cerfs · BBQ lunch & beach time — the crown jewel to finish. A barbecue lunch awaits on the beach: grilled fish, chicken, sausages, garlic bread, salads and tropical fruit, with unlimited drinks — water, juice, soft drinks, local beer, wine and rum (vegetarian dishes on request). Then the early afternoon is yours: swim the gentle lagoon, sunbathe on the white sand, stroll the shore, or try optional watersports like parasailing (at the island, extra cost).

~3:00 PM · The cruise home — a scenic ride back along the coast, often with music and a Sega singalong, arriving at Trou d'Eau Douce by 3:30–4:00 PM.
